Senior year is an exciting time filled with sports, dances, parties, college prep and, oh yeah, school work sandwiched in between. It’s a time to remember. Your senior portrait is an important part of that whirlwind year, even if you don’t think so right now.
I remember high school. My senior portrait is something only a mother could love. It was “assembly line” photography produced in minutes. Being in front of the camera was somewhat intimidating, and I had to wear a jacket and tie! But high school is where photography entered my life and began to transform it.
Today I love photographing high school seniors. You are challenging, intelligent, and filled with promise. And senior portraits have changed. My goal is to capture the essence of who you are right now—not just what you look like, but who you are on the inside. I want to record what makes you tick, what sparks your interest. That’s part of what makes a great portrait. Yesterday’s “assembly line” photography has evolved into boutique portraiture tailored just for you and your personality. Together we will create a cherished portrait both you and mom will love.
TJT Photography has two studios for you to choose from—a formal, indoor, city studio in the heart of Rochester’s Neighborhood of the Arts and both an open-air and barn studio in a more relaxed, country atmosphere in Ontario. The Ontario location is seasonal. Going “on location” to a site of your choosing is also an option.
This is your time, and I want you to be comfortable. Feel free to bring props—the football that scored the winning touchdown, your team jersey, a musical instrument, your prom dress, whatever made a high school memory for you. Pets are welcome too! This will make your portrait a unique and very personal image. Got an unusual or special request? Let’s talk about it!
You can bring up to five wardrobe changes, depending on which sitting package you choose. Both studios have comfortable dressing rooms. We’ll take a few minutes to get acquainted. The average session lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Senior portraits are a ritual that should be fun!
